Creating a Hologram SMS

Create SMS

To create a Hologram SMS message, navigate to the SMS section of the 2mee platform

Once you are in the SMS section click on the 'Create SMS Message' button

Now select Hologram, please refer to this document for text SMS

Choose HoloCapsule

Once you have selected Hologram you will be shown all of your HoloCapsules from the 2mee platform. A HoloCapsule is added to a Hologram SMS message, the user will see the Hologram associated with the capsule once they open your Hologram SMS. You can change the Hologram associated with the capsule at any point, to do this see our Holocapsule documentation.

Once you have chosen your capsule you need to add users that the SMS will be sent to. There are two methods of adding users, below is some information on each of these

Add To/Audience numbers

Single User Input

You can add one or multiple to the audience for your SMS message by inputting the details shown on the screenshot below.

Here are some more details on each of these options:

Mobile No. - This is the users mobile phone number which will receive the SMS

Name - The name of the user

UserID - An identifier given to distinguish users

CampaignID - An identifier used to link users to campaigns

Custom Field - Custom data attached to a user

CSV

A CSV file with your users data can be uploaded to save time adding multiple single users. The CSV file has the same input fields as a Single user.

Twilio and 2mee require all user phone numbers to be in the E.164 format.

While using numbers/excel spreadsheets please ensure that the column stores 'text' and not a 'number' as the + will be lost when converting to CSV

SMS Details

In this section you will be asked to give your SMS a name, this is used for identifying the SMS on the 2mee platform. You will also need to add who the message is coming from, this will be shown on the end users SMS. You will then finally need to add your message, this will be the message that is sent via SMS to your end user.

SMS Name

This is a unique name used to identify your SMS on the 2mee platform

From

Here you are be able to change the default number to an alphanumeric senderID, please make sure this follows the correct format for an alphanumeric senderID or your SMS may not be sent.

Message

Add the text for you SMS text here. A normal SMS character count is 160 characters for GSM-7 encoding and 70 characters for UCS-2 encoding.

Twilio charges for the number of SMS that a single message gets split into. If the character count is greater than the above-stated counts, then carriers will split the message into multiple segments. A single "message" will then be charged based on the number of segments.

There are three options when sending a Hologram SMS, these are:

Personalise - This will personalise the end users message so that it uses the details that were associated with the user when adding them to your audience. For example, If you select 'Name' this will send the unique name of each user in the text.

Add URL - A URL with the 2mee webSDK present is required when sending a Hologram. This URL will be used to display the hologram. Please make sure you have the WebSDK configured correctly by using this WebSDK documentation

Select Hologram Positioning - This allows you to select where on the link you would like the Hologram to be displayed.

Scheduling

Once you have added all of the details for your SMS you can send your SMS immediately to all your users or choose a specific time/date to start sending the message.

SMS Reporting

SMS reporting has lots more options than HoloPush, HoloWeb and Capsules due to their being three parts to the message.

The first part of the SMS is the delivery of the SMS to the user, here you can see the total number of SMS sent, total number of SMS delivered and the amount of users who engaged with the link on the SMS .

The second part of the SMS reporting is the engagement by the user to the link within the SMS, here you can see the total amount of users who engaged with the link in the SMS vs the total number of users who played the hologram which gives us a play%.

The third part is how the user engaged with the 2mee hologram, here you can see the total amount of hologram plays, the total amount of times the user clicked the call to action button which gives us a CTR%.

Below is an example screenshot of an SMS report.
